Founded in 1818 after devastating famines, the University of Hohenheim is not only engaged in intensive basic research but has traditionally also been committed to developing innovative solutions for some of society's pressing problems. To do so, the University of Hohenheim engages in a combination of scientific disciplines that is unique among German universities.

The University of Hohenheim is Germany’s #1 in Agricultural Research and Food Sciences. Following its mission “Sustainability and Resilience”, UHOH is not only engaged in basic research but traditionally also in developing innovative solutions for urgent societal matters, benefitting from its unique profile in the Agricultural and the Natural Sciences as well as Business, Economics and Communication Sciences. Research and teaching benefit from the largest agricultural experiment station in Germany and high-tech greenhouses. Teaching is devoted to competence development of the students, by research-oriented learning, promoting data literacy and entrepreneurial spirit.

Campus

The most beautiful university campus in Germany: The hallmark of the Hohenheim campus is the baroque Hohenheim Palace, surrounded by the historical park and botanical gardens. Around the Palace are lecture halls, institutes, the canteen, libraries - a campus with short distances between destinations that promotes accessibility, communication, and transfer.

Centrally located in terms of transportation: The University of Hohenheim is in the south of Stuttgart - only a few minutes away from the airport, the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre, and the autobahn. The University is around 10 km away from the city center and easily reached with bus and U-Bahn.
